Most Recent SQL Server Updates at Microsoft’s site.

Get sp_CheckSecurity from our github. Read more about sp_CheckSecurity here.

This one is really designed for the accidental DBAs, the IT leaders and the folks who deal with SQL Server but don’t get the benefit of wearing one hat called SQL Server DBA. While we sometimes are bringing up things we see at our Credit Union clients and will focus in on some of the things brought up in their audits with regulators and examiners, the talks are broad enough to apply to anyone running SQL Server.

  • Are your SQL Server databases actually recoverable? October
  • Are your SQL Servers actually reliable? November
  • Are your SQL Servers actually highly available? December
  • Are your SQL Server actually performing? January

Abstract

Join Jeff and I as we continue with the “Are your SQL Servers Actually … ?” series of talks. In August, I kicked off the series with a survey of what we’ll be talking about the rest of the series. The goal for this whole series is for you to run your own SQL Server health checks, find what’s broken and start fixing it. Obviously, we sell services and we can help you out – but we also make the tools to help you help yourself. Check out the talks, bring your questions, and follow along over the next several months as we help you on the journey to having a healthy SQL Server estate.

Who Should Attend

This is perfect for leaders in IT organizations curious about the safety and setup of their SQL Servers. While we will talk a bit about our experience with our Credit Union clients, Straight Path serves clients in a number of verticals – and the lessons all apply across the board. So if you use SQL Server, don’t really have a DBA team and want to know how to start finding out if your SQL Servers are healthy, secure, reliable, recoverable and performant – come to this event and stay tuned for the follow-on events.

You’ll walk away with some tools and tricks to check the health any safety of your own SQL Servers with our free tools downloadable without any cost to you (not even your e-mail and a gate – SP_Check tools are already freely available on our github.)

Head over to LinkedIn and register for free to attend today.
